Dallas Mavericks Will Accept Bitcoin and Ethereum

Fans of the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association will be able to pay with cryptocurrencies from the next season, which will begin in the fall. This was announced by team's owner Mark Cuban.

A Mavericks fan asked Cuban a question on Twitter about when he and other fans will have an opportunity to pay for tickets with Bitcoin. The businessman answered briefly, saying, "Next season."

Immediately after this tweet news agencies began to reach Cuban for comments. And he has given some.

He said to Bloomberg:

"[It is] True. And we will be taking Ether as well. As far as tokens, we will be taking tokens originated by companies we have business relationships."

Cuban is one of many businessmen and investors who at first were skeptical about cryptocurrencies, but eventually invested money in them. In June 2017, he wrote that Bitcoin "is a bubble", however after a while he invested in it. In addition, the businessman took part in the ICO of a sports betting startup Unikrn which raised $31 million in October 2017. Almost half of this sum was invested from Cuban's pocket.

Cuban told:

"Some people want to buy products in crypto to prove a point. We are happy to make it easy for them," Cuban wrote in the email. "And for Existing Mavs fans who prefer to spend krypto currency we are happy to make it easy for them".

In a conversation with CoinDesk, Cuban admitted that with a help of tokens of companies with which the club has business relationships, he hopes to increase the client base of the Mavericks.
