Malaysia May Prohibit Cryptocurrency
October 4, 2017
The head of the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Muhammad Ibrahim, says that BNM will discuss the question of ban of the cryptocurrency sale until the end of 2017. But he hints the final decision may be not so serious.
"The guidelines that BNM will publish by the end of the year will embody the regulation about users registration, information gathering and ensuring transparency. Now is only October. In less than three months, we will give you the details," he informs.
It is worthwhile to say that BNM was loyal to cryptocurrency and was not going to regulate it. However, attitude to cryptocurrency was radically changed in September.
