December 13, 2017
Head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market Anatoly Aksakov said that the Duma would start discussing legislative initiatives in the field of digital currencies in February.
He notes that all the viewpoints are being collected at the moment. In early February a practical discussion of legislative initiatives, which are currently being worked at by the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Russia and the expert community, will begin.
Aksakov reports that two areas of work have been identified: the first one concerns the issue of understanding the cryptocurrency's nature and that is what the expert community will do. The second one is practical, which aims at the preparation and adoption of legislation by July 1, 2018.
Earlier, Anatoly Aksakov stated that digital currencies would be regulated under the law on securities, and also predicted that Bitcoin rate would grow to $20 000 per token.
