Lana Del Rey, Marilyn Manson and Another 43 Artists Will Use Monero

In the world where Bitcoin starts to be recognized as a major financial player, it should not be surprising that other, less serious financial industries  would take up cryptocurrency as well. Under these circumstances, Monero announced the launch of a service in which 45 musicians  and 5 other online stores will be accepting  cryptocurrency and provide discounts for this way of payment during the holiday season.

The  list covers a lot of artists whose stores will take Monero,  such as Lana Del Rey, Mariah Carey, Marilyn Manson, Motley Crue and others. The full list is available by here . Generally, in stores you can buy not only the albums of the performers, but also various souvenirs with the logo of these artists, which include clothing, various ornaments and household items.

Monero is considered one of the most privacy cryptocurrencies and is currently the ninth largest  in the market capitalization.

“As cryptocurrency is becoming more popular, it’s important  for me that my fans have choices when it comes to how they buy my music and merchandise,” said rap star G-Eazy , who became a member of this project. "Monero is one of the safest, most secure and private cryptocurrencies, so it is one of the best options for my fans these holidays, and just in time for my new album", he added.

The project was called Coral Reef, hence, its ideological inspirer was an entrepreneur and a big Monero fan, Navin Jain, who has worked with a large number of the artists.

" The lack of acceptance is obviously one of the vital challenges on the way to cryptocurrency. The community of Monero users is quite large, but they have less opportunity to spend their Monero coins on something cool and interesting. For this reason, this project solves this problem, "Jain believes.

"If music fans get the opportunity to buy a unique item that can only be purchased with Monero or safe 5%  on their purchase, they will run for cryptocurrency," says Riccardo Spagni, Monero's lead developer.

This project is aimed to the development of the mass customers’ interest in Monero, which at the moment is best- known for being used for dark web purchases. It is vital to note that a lot of major  investors believe privacy cryptocurrencies can become more popular, nevertheless  their use to purchase illegal goods is the main hindrance.

"Cryptocurrency is rapidly becoming more popular way of purchasing, but not all  cryptocurrencies have been created equal and not all are equally private and secure. Coral Reef Project  is an important step towards the mainstream adoption of Monero. With the help of this project, fans from all over the world will be able to securely and privately purchase  their favorite  artists’ music and tags for the first time, " Spagni informed.
