Research: Crypto Mining Moves to Major Players
October 10, 2018
Revenues from Bitcoin mining over the first 6 months of 2018 have already exceeded those of 2017 but miners still receiver poor income, as stated by Diar weekly crypto report.
For instance, rewards for BTC miners have already reached $4.7 billion over the first three quarters of 2018 which is approximately 1.4 billion more than total revenue of 2017. Miners still get 54,000 bitcoins a month and emission goes on.
Anyway, mining gets beneficial only for major players as power costs continue growing. Assessment by Diar shows that miners who pay retail for electricity have faced their first losses in September.

But according to Diar, even large companies are likely to adjust their business strategies soon. For example, China-based mining giant Bitmain that gained 95% of its revenues in 2018 from selling mining hardware now acts as stabilizing manufacturer and opens pools in the US to keep the network just a little profitable for common miners.
