Friedenbach: Bitcoin Block Size Can Be Increased Without Hard Fork

Bitcoin protocol developer Mark Friedenbach has presented a bitcoin scaling method which, as he asserted, requires no hard fork.
The new concept presented at Scaling Bitcoin seminar called «Forward Blocks» in Tokyo implies dramatic network capacity increase by altering PoW by means of soft-fork along with alternative private registers.
The proposal describes a scaling method which may transaction computing volume 3,584 times and improve censorship resistance via sharding.
Friedenbach, who is also former NASA contractor, has claimed, he was not going to consider bitcoin scaling solutions first but wanted to develop dual PoW change when you introduce new PoW via soft-fork. The developer also added that his work is in fact a good idea and a point to start with rather than a proposal for further changes.
