Kraken Denies Closing Office and Security Violations
September 7, 2018
Kraken, popular crypto platform based in the US, has denied the rumors on Reddit that the company is going to close its service center due to poor security level.
Today the Reddit forum user wrote, that Kraken closed its center in Halifax, Canada, and “just laid off hundreds of people in response to a security”.
Another forum resident who can possibly be the center employee told that the Kraken executives asked to quit voluntarily having promised a two-month-salary pay. He also added:
“Security everywhere, required to hand in door fobs. Sitting in lunchroom, get told that due to volumes being down (both trading and support ticket), and in light of the opening of a new office in Asia, we need to reduce costs, and layoff of recently hired (<3 months, approx 57 people) was not enough.”
The exchange hasn’t given any official statement for now, but the company’s spokesperson told in the social net account this information being wrong.
