July 11, 2018
Google co-founder Sergey Brin has made unexpected revelation that he is an Ethereum miner.
Currently Brin is the president of Alphabet company, a corporate parent to Google which was formed as a result of the technological giant restructuring in 2015. However, he turned to have a sideline business that is mining the world’s second largest cryptocurrency Ethereum together with his 10-year old son.
Brin explained the success of Google search system as it took the new technologies seriously and recognized the potential technological leap which he credited to many crypto developers.
Moving on, the businessman said, cryptocurrencies that distribute cryptography with public key in the Internet and create consensus algorithms like PoW are “mind-boggling”. Brin also stressed the concept of zero-knowledge proofs that underline anonymity-oriented altcoins as ZCash.
"I see the future as taking these...research-y, out-there ideas and making them real," he noted.
