Reddit Accepts Crypto Again
May 4, 2018
Popular social platform Reddit plans restoring the option to pay with cryptocurrency while the service will accept both Bitcoin and altcoins.
The platform’s chief technology officer Chris Slowe told in the interview to Cheddar that support of crypto will be available again after the service is redesigned. In March Reddit de-listed Bitcoin as accepted payment means due to high commission fees for transactions and technical problems with integrating Coinbase payment processor to the platform.
Slowe added, Bitcoin is not the only coin Reddit plans to support. As he put it, they can add ETH and LTC that are also supported by Coinbase.
Reddit will be using Coinbase Commerce processor launched by the exchange in February. In march the platform started integrating it yet faced some bugs that made it temporarily disable the option of paying in Bitcoin.
