China’s Governmental Research Institute Launches Blockchain Platform
March 28, 2018
Chinese research institute administrated by the country’s authorities has started a Blockchain-as-a-Service-platform for identification and tracking supply chains.
The project titled Blockchain Registry Open Platform was launched on Monday. It was developed by China Banknote Blockchain Technology Research Institute, a branch to the China Banknote Printing and Mining Corporation, controlled by the People’s Bank of China.
The top priorities for the platform are storing static information and logging data change. The system is planned to be used by state agencies for user data arrangement with the purpose to facilitate identification of citizens when they require public services. In addition, the system can be used for storing verified data to avoid fraud in food supply chains.
Remember, the China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology claimed earlier, the country needs quickest possible blockchain standardization. Note that private Chinese corporations like Baidu and Jingdong Mall have already started their own blockchain services.
