Over $6 mln in Cryptocurrency Hijacked in Japan in 2017

As statistics says, 2017 saw over $6.7 mln in cryptocurrency stolen by fraudsters with the January hack of Coincheck taken into account.
16 crypto exchanges and 3 organisations with cryptocurrency wallets have fallen victim to the attacks. Scammers have proven to be mostly interested in Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple.
Note, that number of crypto attacks has risen as the Bitcoin price grew: 9 times in April, 19 in May and 41 in June. During the same time span over 400 cases of illegal online fiat transfers have been detected which is 25% less than is was in 2014.
