Alibaba's T-Mall to Implement Blockchain
March 2, 2018
A Chinese e-commerce retailer T-Mall, which is operated by Alibaba, in cooperation with a logistics company Cainiao, plans to implement blockchain technology in its international supply chain.
As a part of the partnership, companies are aimed at using blockchain technology in transferring data on imported and exported goods, which will help in tracking of country of origin, shipping and arriving ports, shipping method, and details of all customs reports.
Cainiao as a logistics company is betting on blockchain and believes that this technology has a lot of potential and can make the process of delivery easier, cheaper, and faster. By the way, Alibaba is an investor of Cainiao.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Alibaba is preparing for the launch of its own cloud mining platform. With all that taken into account, it is safe to say that the Chinese giant is interested in new technology.
