North Korea Continues to Steal South Korean Cryptocurrency

South Korea’s parliamentary intelligence committee reported that North Korea has seized funds of South Korean exchanges. Intelligence service is sure that DPRK is encouraging local hackers to steal cryptocurrency and that they have already stolen more than a dozen million dollars.

A member of the intelligence committee Kim Byung-kee said in an interview with Reuters:

"North Korea sent emails that could hack into cryptocurrency exchanges and their customers’ private information and stole (cryptocurrency) worth billions of won."

The information about exact cryptocurrency exchanges that suffered from attacks has not been disclosed. South Korean intelligence intends to make every possible efforts to stop these cyberattacks and Kim Byung-kee said that these attacks occur on a daily basis. 

It is worthy to recall that the first report about cyberattacks on South Korean exchanges from North Korea came on December 2017.
